 Joel Marion has created a weight loss diet product called Cheat Your Way Thin, and it’s gotten a lot of attention around the Internet.  Let’s take an in depth look at the plan and how it works.

Joel has really hit on something here and I think that’s one of the reasons that Cheat Your Way Thin has done as well as it has.  Our body’s natural tendency is to store fat and this is no less true when we go on a diet.

You see when you cut your caloric intake, or you decide to cut out carbs, your body goes into a little bit of panic mode and starts storing all of the fat that it can, working against your dieting efforts.  This is one of the reasons that most diets don’t work.

Your body needs to get certain things and it’s almost like you have to trick your body to a large degree.  See, your body produces a chemical called Leptin.  This chemical dulls hunger and basically tells your body that you’re at the right weight.
When you diet, your body reduces the amount of Leptin created and therefore you feel more hungry than you actually are.  That’s one of the reasons that people have such strong cravings when they’re dieting.  Your body isn’t producing as much Leptin, so your hunger isn’t being dulled.  This ties right into the logic behind Cheat Your Way Thin.

Joel Marion has come up with a great way to get around this and trick your body into thinking that it’s getting everything that it needs.  He accomplishes this by putting you on a cyclical diet where  you’ll have a low carb day, a low glycemic day, and then a high glycemic day.  Then at certain precise intervals, you get to “cheat” for a day and eat whatever you want.

This is where the “cheat” comes into the title of Cheat Your Way Thin.  By having this cheat day, you trick your body into not thinking that you’re on a diet and it will therefore continue creating proper amount of Leptin and you’ll have an easier time resisting those cravings.  Hopefully I’ve made the science in my Cheat Your Way Thin review easy to understand.

One more point is that on a psychological level it won’t be as hard to maintain the diet longer, since periodically you get to have days where you can eat anything that you want to.  This is probably what people love about it most.
